Cupcake Decorating Classes

Frost will now offer cupcake decorating classes: one for Adults and one for kids. These classes are $75 + tax.  All classes are taught at Frost's bakery production facility in Bartlett, Tennessee.  This is a real, operational bakery and is the nicest facility of its kind in the Mid-south. A tour of this facility is part of each class.

Frost classes are taught using Frost techniques by Frost decorators. Because they decorate for Frost customers every day, they are up-to-date on the latest decorating ideas, tools and techniques.    

All of the necessary tools and equipment for each class are supplied by Frost for student use during the class.  Two dozen undecorated cupcakes are included, eliminating the need for students to bring their own desserts to decorate.  At the end of the class, each student takes home their finished cupcakes, a $54 value in our retail stores.

Cupcake Decorating Class Information

Class Title: Adult Cupcake Class

$75 + tax

• identify equipment needed to decorate cupcakes using frosting
• learn how to fill and properly hold and use a piping bag
• learn various piping techniques
• learn various top decorations such as flowers and characters

This course is an introduction to the basic art of frosting and decorating cupcakes. Topics include familiarization with decorating tools, bags, tips and an exploration into different styles of cupcakes. Students will practice basic techniques and decorative piping. The techniques learned will be used to finish 2 dozen cupcakes that each student takes home.

2023 Adult Cupcake Class Dates

Class Title: Kids Cupcake Class

$75 + tax

Same class as Adult Cupcake Decorating except geared to a slower pace for kids.  

• Ages 8 to 14
• 2-hour class, 6 pm to 8 pm
• one adult is welcome to stay and watch or assist free of charge
• identify equipment needed to decorate cupcakes using frosting
• learn how to fill and properly hold and use a piping bag
• learn various piping techniques
• learn various top decorations such as flowers and characters

This course is an introduction to the basic art of frosting and decorating cupcakes. Topics include familiarization with decorating tools, bags, tips and an exploration into different styles of cupcakes. Students will practice basic techniques and decorative piping. The techniques learned will be used to finish 2 dozen cupcakes that each student takes home. You will get to practice various cupcake decorating techniques at a slower and simplified pace geared towards kids. 

2023 Kids Cupcake Class Dates & Themes

1. Register in store (at either the East Memphis or Collierville location) or call 901-682-4545 to register by phone.  Adult and Kid Cupcake Class $75 + tax.
2. Each paid spot is for 1 person to decorate 2 dozen (24) cupcakes.  For the adult classes, if you would like to share a spot for 2 people to decorate together on the same set of cupcakes, there will be an additional $25 for registration.  Kids classes are not allowed to share a spot, but one adult is welcome to stay and watch or assist free of charge.
3. All classes are held at Frost's Bartlett facility at 7876 Stage Hills Blvd, Suite 106 (behind St. Francis BARTLETT Hospital)
4. Registration is not complete until the class is paid in full.
5. Registration fees are not refundable, but can be transferred to another spot with 72 hour notice.
6.  All classes have a 4 person minimum.  Registration is on a first-come first-served basis. Frost reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes if minimum class size is not met. Classes with less than 4 registrations will be moved to another date; 72 hour notice will be given when a class date is moved.
7. All students in the Adult Classes must be at least 15 years old; the Kids classes are for kids ages 8 to 14 year old; younger children are not allowed in the bakery facility.
8. Frost will supply cupcakes and all other necessary materials; therefore, you need only bring your enthusiasm to learn.
9. Classes willl begin promptly at their start time. Please plan on showing up 5 minutes early to insure you receive the full benefit of each course. Cupcake Classes are 1 hours with a built-in in 2nd hour for those who need more time to finish.  
10. Please dress comfortably for the class. You must wear closed toe shoes (eg: tennis shoes or clogs); no sandals or flip-flops are permitted.  If desired, you may bring an apron to protect your clothing.
